Kenya Airways has doubled airfare for repatriating Kenyans stranded in Britain. The people interested in getting back home will be forced to part with a whopping 771 pounds, roughly Sh. 101,000 to fly back to Nairobi from London on May 15th 2020.
The aforementioned repatriation mission is said to be the most costly chartered service the airline has offered to Kenyans in a desperate need to fly back home amid corona virus pandemic which has seen most airlines clamp their services.
In a uniform move, Kenya Airways grounded its International and domestic flights following the serial spread of Covid19. The airline has been hinging its income source on cargo and chartered services following the near collapse of the transport industry.
So far, the Airline has flown back expatriating Kenyans from Mumbai and Guangzhou at $430 and $750 respectfully about a week ago.
The chartered flight which is the third in a series of many chartered flights expected to land at JKIA will only be available for travelers who test positive for Covid 19. The cost of the tests will be met by the passengers.
