CS Mutahi Kagwe has applauded the efforts of Mombasa’s Ali Hassan Joho, congratulating him for his innovative and spirited fight against corona virus.
Joho who’s famously referred to as 001 is living his name after coming up with innovate ways to compliment the Ministry of Health’s given guidelines in the fight against Corona Virus.
Joho’s efforts to avert contamination of Mombasa people go way back when the state announced the first case in Kenya. The Governor resorted to decongesting markets by creating space for some of the traders and separating wholesale from retail traders.
In addition, Joho teamed with donors and stakeholders to raise and store foodstuff set to feed over 200 thousand people, should Corona Virus scale down to unprecedented lock down and eventual crippling of the county’s economy.
Recently, he teamed up with a Mombasa based politician, Suleiman Shahbal, to install automated spray booths in the Likoni ferry channel. The spray booths are said to be the first of their kind to be installed in Sub Saharan Africa.
Likoni ferry channel was considered a highly contamination site due to the large traffic of people that throng the channel on daily basis.
