A Hyena in sheep’s clothing could perhaps be an intricate description of a 61 year old US registered sexual offender, who is now staring at a 16 year jail term.
Gregory Dow, who was accused of using 11 – 13 year old Kenyan girls for his own sexual gratification, laid his loud truth by confirming the charges revered against him. In a federal Court hearing in US’ Pennsylvania state, Dow confirmed to committing the crimes between 2013 and 2017.
According to prosecutor, Dow purported to be a Christian missionary whose special calling is perfectly crafted to take care of orphaned children. Dow reportedly set up an orphanage at Bomet’s Boita and ran the establishment alongside his lawfully wedded wife.
It’s said that Dow encouraged children in his establishment to call him ‘dad’. Instead of fitting the father figure character, Dow resorted to preying on the innocence of the young girls and shamelessly trampled on their vulnerability.
Dow was accused of using force and coercion to fuel his wanton crimes against the defenseless minors. When local detectives caught wind of his folly, they attempted to arrest him but he successfully escaped to the homeland, US.
Dow is said to have made it to the sexual offenders list in 1996. As to how a serial sex offender managed to set camp as a savior in the country is a topic for another day. Dow will be officially sentenced on September 29, 2020.
