Kesses Member of Parliament, Swarup Mishra, was busted leading on the bad example matrix after he resorted to holding a social gathering contrary to Government’s directive.
The honorable member who was caught red handed by Kesses area commander, resorted to throwing insults and threats at officers of the law whom he accused of trying to rain on his parade.
According to him, uniformed officers did not have a right to order him to cancel the meeting as the gathering was reportedly in the interest of his constituents and that he knew what he was doing as a duly elected member.
It’s reported that the meeting was aimed at distributing 30 million worth of food to the old and underprivileged in Kesses constituency. The exercise which was targeting close to 12,000 people allegedly failed to take account of social distancing and scaled down to be detrimental due to the chaos that ensued.
The chaos are said to have caught the eye of Kesses’ deputy commander, who requested to have the meeting cancelled to avoid contaminating and spreading Corona Virus. It’s at this juncture that all hell broke loose with Mr. Swarup threatening to give the officer irregular transfer to another region.
The ban on social gatherings was effected by the state as a measure to avert the spread of Covid-19 which is wreaking havoc globally.
