Main suspect in the murder case of JKIA Engineer has finally revealed intricate details on the events that prompted her to stab her lover.
According to the woman identified as Vigilance Shighi, reportedly told detectives that she had a domestic quarrel with her lover, Edward Okello, that scaled down to her exchanging blows and hitting each other with crude weapons.
In a video that surfaced online, Shighi admitted that she was fighting with Okello but clarified that her memory was a bit clogged hence couldn’t recall the exact events that led to the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend.
“I don’t know what happened, amongst the fighting and the push and pull, we asked each other what’s not happening. I don’t know anything. If I have to be jailed because he is the one who is hurt, it’s okay. He beat me repeatedly, a woman will take anything to defend herself, I took a cup and threw it at him,” intimated Shighi.
The incident went down on Sunday, May 10 at Umoja 2 estate in Nairobi. Detectives were briefed on the matter by Okello’s neighbor who made a distress call. According to credible sources, Okello was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Okello was an aeronautical engineer at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
